Pastor Steve Sanchez

My name is Steve Sanchez and I have been an associate pastor at Hope Chapel, Hermosa Beach for over fifteen years where I served as Pastor of Evangelism, Singles, Pro-Life Ministry and Baptisms. I also oversaw half of our church’s 100+ small groups, raising up leaders, and instructing them on how to best care for our congregation.

After living a drug addict’s life and nearly losing everyone I loved and everything I owned, I ended up at this beach church and found Christ at Hope Chapel in December 1990. Or, more accurately, he found me, and saved me. (Read that story here.)

I met my wife Karen met at the Hope Chapel Hermosa Beach Singles Ministry in the mid-’90s, got married in July of 1996, and we had our first daughter Danielle (D.D.) in 1999, and Laurel in 2001. Karen gave up her nursing career to homeschool the girls until our move to Texas in August 2013.

I have studied with Pacific International University, Hope Chapel Ministries Institute and am currently enrolled in The School of Biblical Evangelism. I served as a team leader for the Way of the Master’s Ambassadors’ Academy between 2008-2011, training students from around the world on how to share their faith on the streets. (I wrote a blog focused entirely on Biblical evangelism called Stone the Preacher from 2006-2013, but have now switched its focus to walking with God by faith. Go to www.Not-By-Sight.com )

On June 15, 2013 I got the call to move from Southern California (where I have lived for over 50 years) with my wife Karen and two girls, D.D. and Laurel, to Dripping Springs, Texas to plant a church. (Read that story here.)

My heart is to see people turn to God by faith and repentance by understanding the good news of Jesus Christ, to grow up in Him and learn to share about Him with others. (I made a commitment to share the gospel daily on January 1, 2004. Read about it here.)

Hope Chapel Hill Country is a fellowship committed to teaching biblical truth through expository preaching in a way that is practical and understandable to today’s culture.

We have small group meetings every Thursday at our home and hope to meet on Sundays in a location to be determined in December.

Please listen to my radio show on KDRP starting Sunday, December 29 from 11:00 to 11:30am. It will be a mixture of teaching and music from local Austin Christian artists. (KDRPlive.org ; 103.1FM, Dripping Springs; 100.1FM, Austin; 99.1FM, Fredricksburg)

WORLD Magazine interviewed me about my philosophy of evangelism and published the article in the November 30, 213 edition. You can read the online version by clicking here.
