What did Bill Bright, Founder of CRU, the “Haystackers,” founders of foreign missions, and Gladys Aylward, who rescued 100 Chinese orphans during WW2 have in common? They were all led by the Holy Spirit to do great exploits for God. How did this come to be? What will the Holy Spirit do in you?
The apostles had to replace Judas because he killed himself and went to Hell. Why did they need 12? Why did God choose him to be an apostle in the first place? And why should this matter to Christians today?
When you look at the type of men Jesus chose to start his first church, you have to ask yourself “Why them?” Did they have special gifts that the other followers didn’t have? These apostles should give us great hope because they had so little to offer God when Jesus called them. Imagine what God can do with you?
Are you full of joy because of what the Savior has done? Does he occupy the majority of your thoughts? It is entirely possible to come to church, hear a message with clear things that God tells us to do or not to do, and leave unchanged, uncommitted and unwilling to do anything we just heard. What can you do to retain your joy and be more obedient to what God commands?
There is an event that is virtually ignored in churches that should be celebrated: Jesus’ ascension to Heaven. Why? That day marked the completion of his work on earth as a man. Also, another promise was given to his followers as they were tasked with the greatest work in history: to be a witness for him.
As Christians, what should we be doing knowing that 150,000 people die every day, over 6,200 people every hour, 104 every minute, and 2 every second?
The only way you can understand Scripture is when the Holy Spirit opens up our understanding. This is called “Illumination.” Without His help, the Bible is just another book. The main thing He will open our eyes to is the fact that Jesus is in every book of the Bible. What difference does that make?
“How to Share Your Faith By Asking one 6-Word Question” This makes evangelism soooo easy. This message is in the middle of the disputed text of Mark 16:9-20, “The Longer Ending.” I also explain how compared to other ancient manuscripts, the New Testament is completely reliable.
The best way to start combining the preaching of the gospel with committed, intentional discipleship is to start with your family. Here’s how to do it.
THE MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE I’VE EVER PREACHED. It would take only 33 years to reach the entire world with the gospel if you decided to disciple one person this year. Why do Christians not take Jesus’ command to “make disciples” seriously? Why don’t you?
